I finished this painting late last night. Today, it’s New Year’s Eve and I’m silent and pensive as the painting speaks to me.
The dramatic colours of the sunset cause me to look back with love and gratitude for the bitter and sweet experiences in 2024. The transition of loved ones and the giggles and soft kisses of my grandchildren are patent reminders of the evolution and renewal of life. The tangled mass of vegetation, much like the craziness in the world today doesn’t quite make sense. But, the ebb and flow of the tide, beckon me to get into a new rhythm, to create new traditions and to move forward into a new year.
The entire painting is rich in symbolism, and takes me back to my daily mantra: See the big picture. Focus on what’s important.
As I move into a new year, instead of being overwhelmed – as I felt as I created this painting – I’m going to face each day’s challenges and blessings, one moment at a time.
Happy new everything in 2025 to all my Facebook friends!
Peace & Love!
Christ in you, the hope of glory. That’s why glory matters.
