What’s your cup of tea?

πŸ™ On Saturday 28 September 2024, I was honored and humbled to be selected as an awardee by the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women project.

πŸ† The award is given to recognize and document the contribution of Black women who have excelled professionally while making an impactful contribution to uplift women and girls through leadership, mentorship, and role modelling.

When accepting the award, I was reminded of a verse in Peter’s Epistle –

β€œEach of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

I Peter 4:10

πŸ‘ I’m sharing the text of my video message that was played during the Book Launch and Award Ceremony, in the hope that others will be inspired to give back, pay it forward and make a difference in the world.

πŸ”Š β€œFor me, leadership and mentorship have always gone hand in hand in my career in the private and social sectors. I strongly encourage everyone to empower others; to lead in building innovative community programs; and to offer thought leadership that promotes career development, health, and well-being. From my experience, the impact is exponential.”

πŸ’‘ Even though none of us can singlehandedly boil the ocean, we can each make several cups of tea!

What’s your cup of tea?

What difference will you make in your world?

Christ in you the hope of glory. That’s why glory matters!

Enabling businesses and people to be successful. This is my mission, my life’s work. It’s always been what I have done wherever I’ve been employed, called to serve or to volunteer. An experienced business leader, my core values are truth, integrity, and respect. I believe that values-based leadership is critical for organizational success that is enabled by an engaged and empowered workforce. Working over the years in several senior marketing, communications, and executive leadership mandates for global, financial, healthcare, and non-profit organizations, it has been through times of transformation and difficult change that I have done my best work. In my blog posts, I share my perspectives on leadership, marketing and strategy that are based on my key learnings and observations over the years, all with the objective of helping others reach for success. In my spare time, I enjoy the beauty of nature which I reproduce in my pastel paintings.
