Be Kind

The world is going through a lot—wars, natural disasters, economic instability, misuse of power and privilege, and much more.

Individually and collectively, we can make a difference by being kind.

Kindness: generosity rooted in empathy, expecting nothing in return except knowing you’ve made a positive impact.

Make kindness your personal investment—

Think outside the box about how you can use your professional skills, volunteer work, and hobbies to pay it forward and give back.

Pay it forward—Offer support. The journey continues toward a future where everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion, can find their place based on their abilities and ambitions.

Give back—I often say that you can’t boil the ocean, but you can serve many cups of tea. Small gestures of kindness add up to make a significant impact.

Invest in kindness collectively—

Supporting social programs that address major societal issues can enhance your corporate reputation. Well-equipped food kitchens, supplies for homeless shelters, and care packages for those affected by domestic violence are urgently needed and make a meaningful difference.

Something to think about…

Take a real, honest look at the root causes of the social problems we see around us. Take an inventory of your talents and your treasures. Ask yourself, “What can I do to make a difference?”

  • Donate any item of clothing that you haven’t worn for a year to a women’s shelter
  • Once each month, buy an extra bag of potatoes or vegetables and drop it off at a local food bank
  • Share a charity’s donation advertisement on social media
  • Commit to one small act of kindness each month.

Small acts of kindness make a BIG difference.

Enabling businesses and people to be successful. This is my mission, my life’s work. It’s always been what I have done wherever I’ve been employed, called to serve or to volunteer. An experienced business leader, my core values are truth, integrity, and respect. I believe that values-based leadership is critical for organizational success that is enabled by an engaged and empowered workforce. Working over the years in several senior marketing, communications, and executive leadership mandates for global, financial, healthcare, and non-profit organizations, it has been through times of transformation and difficult change that I have done my best work. In my blog posts, I share my perspectives on leadership, marketing and strategy that are based on my key learnings and observations over the years, all with the objective of helping others reach for success. In my spare time, I enjoy the beauty of nature which I reproduce in my pastel paintings.
