Courage. It’s being able to press ahead despite feeling fearful.
We’re living in a world filled with uncertainty that’s driven by fear.
Every time I see this painting, I’m reminded of the fear-filled times in my life when courage was my only option.
Without being simplistic, I’m sharing my experience of overcoming fear with courage while creating this painting.
About three years ago, I was asked to do a demonstration in front of experienced and award-winning artists, who wanted to know more about the techniques I used to create my pastel paintings.
I feared that I wouldn’t be able to answer their tough questions and that my nervous hands would mess up the painting. Swallowing very hard, I mustered up the courage to agree to do the demonstration, which lasted two hours.
To my surprise and relief, everything went as good as it could be. The artists were curious. I answered all their questions. Everyone paid close attention as I worked through the five stages of the painting.
The finished painting was sold in an auction to an enthusiastic buyer!
The lesson: when courage meets faith, fear is conquered.
I hope that you’re inspired to meet tomorrow’s challenges with courage.
Christ in you, the hope of glory. That’s why glory matters!
